**Job Title:** Maintenance Worker **Location:** Albany, NY **Job Type:** ~ 30 hours/week **Reports to:** Facilities Manager / Operations Director **Pay:** $18/hour **About Us:** Our client is a local non-profit dedicated to promoting equity for marginalized groups in the city of Albany. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to help us maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our facilities. **Position Overview:** As a Maintenance Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional for our staff, volunteers, and the people we serve. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks efficiently. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance issues. + Complete general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC system checks. + Ensure that all safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits, are in proper working order. + Perform minor repairs and maintenance to building infrastructure such as doors, windows, furniture, and fixtures. + Clean and maintain outdoor areas including grounds, parking lots, and walkways, including snow removal. + Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance or repair work. + Ensure the safe storage of cleaning supplies, maintenance tools, and equipment. + Assist with event setups, facility moves, and other special projects as needed. + Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. + Document maintenance activities and report any larger issues to the Facilities Manager. **Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Ability to use a variety of maintenance tools and equipment. + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. + Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems. + Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team. + Must have a personal vehicle for transportation to off-site locations, meetings, or service requests. + Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling. **Requirements:** + Personal vehicle is a requirement for consideration. + Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record. **How to Apply:** Please submit your resume to be considered for this position.
