Intellectual Property (IP) Creation Specialist
What you’ll do:
The Intellectual Property (IP) Creation Specialist is responsible for commissioning, creating or modifying art, maps, and technical art for projects that resonate with a diverse audience and highlight the organization’s commitment to equity and inclusion across various disciplines and grade levels. This role includes all technical requirements for creating illustrative digital art. It will also include evaluation and selection of appropriate illustrators for projects. This role supports IP Leads and Specialists in cultivation of favorable working relationships across internal teams, artists, and illustrators (and their representatives), supports collaborating and negotiating with cross-functional groups, and participates in content planning and scoping, monitors budgets, engages with partners, ensures quality standards are met, and adheres to compliance and schedule guidelines.
Duties may include:
Art/map commissioning for Core/SIS (Supplemental Intervention Solutions) programs Making modifications (changing colors, updating style, etc.) to existing digital art pieces Creation of new Illustrations and technical art and or other related digital art pieces for HMH product Intellectual property research and licensing. Relationship building with third-party rightsholders and/or vendor partners Facilitate systems and/or process training for vendors and freelancers Execution of digital asset procurement, tagging, organization, file management, and ingestion
What you’ll need:
Minimum 2 year(s) of related industry or equivalent experience BA/BS in related discipline Experience with: MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, file conversion) InDesign knowledge is a plus. Understands the fundamentals of publishing, contracts and rights acquisition processes Understanding of publishing and EdTech fundamentals, current industry standards: including artist styles, reps, and applications. Ability to make value judgments, prioritize tasks within the full realm of responsibilities, traffic art pieces in a manner that aligns with delivery dates People skills needed to: collaborate in a team environment, create productive working relationships in a cross-functional team.
Nice to Have:
Experience interpreting and implementing legal contracts, guidelines, and policies. Ability to make value judgments and prioritize tasks within the full realm of responsibilities. Knowledge and/or experience with Agile frameworks and values.

Salary: $55,000 - $58,000
