IR Payload Systems Engineer

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a passionate, detailed-oriented problem-solver to serve as a Systems Engineer to support defense and civil space systems in the Space Division. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Space Division projects include civil and defense space platforms efforts. As an integral member of the Space Division Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Branch, the successful candidate will leverage digital engineering and systems engineering practices and tools, including CAMEO, to identify challenges and formulate candidate solutions within complex, highly interdependent IR payload systems and programs. The systems engineer will work with a Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) in executing space systems system engineering for prototype development and as-build configurations. The systems engineer will coordinate IR payload system engineering for prototype development and as-build configurations. This includes input to and application of Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) defined processes including requirements definition, requirements updates, change requests, verification planning and execution, and acceptance testing. The systems engineer will work to apply systems engineering standard processes and best practices to workflows efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

Work System requirement application and updates from Task Order, Specifications and Test PlansSupport verification and traceability of deliverables back to System RequirementsAssist in development of verification plans and process improvementsFacilitate configuration management of the technical data packageDevelop and maintain a clear understanding of overall system interdependencies and interfacesImplement creative solutions to ensure program requirements are upheldIdentify, mitigate and resolve risksCoordinate systems engineering tasks with the customerPerform other related job duties as required

Basic Qualifications

BS and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.Familiarity with CAMEOExperience with system level requirementsDetailed understanding of the top-down systems engineering process for architecture development and bottoms-up verificationDemonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of complex physical systemsDemonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of aerospace systemsAbility to stay focused and succeed in dynamic and fast paced environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detailOrganizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information

Pay Range:Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
