SEG, a subsidiary of AXIENT is seeking an IR Signatures Model Developer in Columbia, MD.

 

Systems Engineering Group (SEG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Axient, is a key source of systems engineering expertise for U.S. integrated air and missile defense initiatives.  In addition to government program offices, SEG collaborates with national laboratories, the intelligence community, and prime contractors in support of engineering development and analysis activities.  SEG provides an intellectually stimulating environment with excellent opportunities for technical and leadership growth.  As a signatures branch team member, you will collaborate with a highly motivated group of engineers and scientists to develop state-of-the-art RF, IR, and laser digital signatures, tools, products, and analysis packages of threat missile systems.

What you will do...

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and refining models to simulate and predict IR sensor performance in various environments and conditions.  Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to technical reviews and customer briefings.  

 

Responsibilities:

Develop and refine models to simulate and predict EO/IR signatures, including thermal, radiative, and reflective properties.Conduct data analysis and gather relevant inputs to validate EO/IR signature models.Contribute to the development of new modeling and analysis tools.Work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced research and development environment.Create technical data review and analysis briefings for both internal and external stakeholders.Stay current with the latest advancements in EO/IR technology, sensor systems, and modeling techniques.Document and present methodologies and model performance to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required Qualifications:

Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance.Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Strong knowledge of EO/IR technology and sensor systems.Intermediate proficiency in MATLAB, Python, R, C/C++, or similar coding language for data analysis, algorithm development, and model implementation.Familiarity with FLUENT, CART3D, and/or OSC/OPTISIG.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong presentation skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Active Us DoD SECRET (or higher)Masters or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with relevant project experience.Advanced proficiency in MATLAB, Python, R, C/C++, or similar coding language for data analysis, algorithm development, and model implementation.Familiarity with software version control and issue tracking.Experience with implementing linear or non-linear regression machine learning models.Experience with analyzing large datasets.Modeling and analysis experience in the characterization of adversary missile systems.Experience working with Linux systems.Familiarity with utilizing high-performance computing (HPC) environments for physics or mathematical simulations.Understanding of computer vision and image processing techniques applied to EO/IR/LIDAR data analysis.
