IRB Specialist II

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm; must be local to work on site every other week on Wednesday/Thursday

Location: Orlando, Florida

Position Overview

As an IRB Specialist II, you will be an expert in state and federal laws, regulations, ethical issues, institutional policies, and other agency requirements governing the protection of human subjects in research. You will ensure quality control across the IRB office, reviewing files and meeting minutes for completeness, accuracy, and consistency. Additionally, you will train IRB Office Coordinators, manage external IRB review processes, and oversee the IRB electronic submission process. Your commitment to outstanding customer service and respectful relationship management will be key.

Responsibilities

Interpret and stay updated on current regulations, guidelines, and trends in human subject research.Provide valuable information, guidance, and integrity to human subject research activities through interactions with management and staff.Assist in developing, updating, and communicating research administration policies and procedures.Monitor, review, and report on performance measures, and audit and monitor studies and consent processes.Conduct educational sessions on human subject research for both researchers and IRB members.Advise investigators and support staff in resolving IRB committee contingencies.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, healthcare, business administration, finance, accounting, or a research-related field, with three (3) years of IRB or research-related experience, preferably in an academic or medical setting; ORAssociate’s degree in legal studies, healthcare, business administration, finance, accounting, or a research-related field, with five (5) years of IRB or research-related experience, preferably in an academic or medical setting.

Certification:

Certified Institutional Review Board Professional (CIP).About Actalent
