The Irrigation Service Engineer provides remote technical support to Rain Bird Customers in the North and South America. The ideal candidate will possess skills and experience with IT/IoT or communications systems, electromechanical or controls engineering or irrigation field services
Responsibilities Provide the best remote technical support (phone, email and chat) for end-users, distributors and on-site technicians for installation, maintenance, or repair projects.Develop, test, and implement new products and services as part of full irrigation solutions for Rain Bird customers.Perform troubleshooting, repair, and testing of irrigation components, including valves, rotors, electronic controllers, flow sensors, and other products Manage flow of field information to engineering, product management, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.Track, report, and follow-up on product and technical issues in the field using established escalation processes.Maintain ownership of service performance and quality specifications.Prepare and conduct training to internal and external customers, remotely or in a classroom environment.Participate in the GSP 24 hour on-call support rotation. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in IT, Engineering, Agronomy or equivalent and 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Help Desk /Technical support experience.Experience in IT, Engineering or Irrigation Industries. Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.Process oriented.Knowledge of electronics and Information Systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Track record of documenting improvement projects and processes.Customer facing experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language(s).Irrigation, golf course service and Golf Central Control programming experience.Previous experience with people management and financial controls management.Rain Bird is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
