IS Cybersecurity Engineer

+ GENERAL SUMMARY
+ The Cybersecurity Engineer supports the protection of our information assets from intentional or unintentional disclosure, modification destruction, or denial of access by identifying potential security breaches in a timely and accurate fashion. Reports to department leadership.
+ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Monitors and investigates the organization’s network, user traffic and related logs for anything that negatively impacts confidentiality, availability, and integrity of company assets.
+ Executes technical security management tasks and assignments.
+ Analyzes and recommends controls and procedures in business processes related to use of information systems and assets, and monitors for compliance.
+ Assists in Security incident analysis and response.
+ Prepares reports that documents security incidents and other cyber security violations.
+ Aids senior security staff in the continued development and implementation of security policies and standards.
+ Aids senior security staff in the continued development, implementation, and maintenance of security controls and related monitoring solutions.
+ Researches and identifies cyber-attack methods and attack patterns which pose risk to the company.
+ Assists in conducting risk assessments, including simulated cybersecurity attacks on company assets.
+ Reviews emails and websites for compliance.
+ Performs reviews of client Anti-virus.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
+ None required.
+ MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
+ Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility (including theories, principles, and concepts) normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Networking, Computer Science, MIS or closely related discipline, with 1 or more years of work experience.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of technical security engineering practices.
+ Ability to operate independently and in teams.
+ Understanding of information security principles, standards, tools and methodologies.
+ Working knowledge of two (2) or more security areas such as penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, application security scanning, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, firewalls, server hardening, patching, file integrity management, security monitoring, Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
+ WORKING CONDITIONS
+ Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with the exception of visits to the computer room.
