Your role and responsibilitiesElectrification Smart Power IS – Front End Application Domain is seeking an experienced IT Technology Manager (IS Manager) to lead and oversee technical part of the department. In the responsibility area of you have 3 functional teams: Development and Architecture; DevOps and Infrastructure; Automated Testing. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, strategic leadership, and project management skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions and efficient operational processes. As part of ELSP organization you will support not only other EL Divisions:•\tEL Smart Power – especially Smart Transformation fusion teams (Agile Teams in business, ex-tended to IS capabilities).•\tEL Smart Buildings – ED and BHAS configurators•\tEL Distribution Systems•\tEL ServiceBut also, country organizations within QA Automation scope (e.g. testing US SAP systems) This role reports to IS Department Manager for Front End Applications (Customer Facing Applications).Grade:10 Responsibilities:Team Leadership:•\tOversee delivery across all teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives•\tManage, mentor, and develop a diverse team of architects, developers, DevOps engi-neers and automation testers, located in Poland and Brazil.•\tFoster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages continuous improvement.•\tManage team resources effectively to meet project demands. Technical Oversight:•\tProvide technical guidance and direction for automation testing strategies, software development processes, system architecture design, and DevOps practices.•\tEnsure adherence to best practices and industry standards in coding, testing, and de-ployment.•\tEnsure adherence to internal ABB processes Process Improvement:•\tIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and product quality.•\tDrive the adoption of agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines to streamline work-flows.Stakeholder Communication:•\tServe as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding technical initiatives. Work closely with business architecture and enterprise architecture teams.•\tCollaborate with other departments (empower, EasyOrder) to align IT initiatives with overall business goals.Technical scope:•\t60+ applications, mainly web based but also fat client•\tOwn managed infrastructure including Kubernetes Clusters•\tDevelopment toolsets (e.g. Sentry, Monitoring tools etc) •\tBudget:•\tOversee overall the infrastructure budget. Make sure all changes requested by security and app teams are properly understood in context of financial impact•\tManage Cost of the teams and make sure those are properly back charged to the re-spective projects•\tOwn Quality Assurance budget. Manage cost of test sub-department.
Qualifications for the role\tBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\t15+ years of experience in IT\tProven experience in IT management (minimum 5 years), especially with architecture, and DevOps, automation testing, software development,\tStrong knowledge of software development methodologies, testing frameworks, and DevOps tools.\tExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.\tAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.\tRelevant technical certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)\tPMP, Agile, Certified ScrumMaster, etc are a plus.
