IT Architect

As an IT Architect you will be supporting Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) G-6 SAP CIO Special Access Programs/Sensitive Activities Cybersecurity and Technical Services implementing and applying technologies, processes and practices for cloud-based tools, techniques, and trends. Responsibilities

Maintain system solutions and ensure protection of proprietary/confidential of data in accordance with mandated standards.

Provide support in analytics, technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, risk assessments, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for computer security products and systems.

Provide critical review/analysis of Benefit Cost Analysis (BCAs), engineering estimates, and other system related staff documents submissions (policy, guidance, regulations) in terms of impact, completeness, format compliance, and compliance with the requested scope of work to be executed as it relates to optimization, rationalization, and migration of Army application and systems.

Provide strategic planning support through architecture experience and integration of virtual computing environments within and between institutional and operational environments and to inform the CIO/G-6 Leadership of status and challenges.

Conduct analysis and provides insight on Virtual Infrastructure including setting up Virtual Workloads, Costs, Services, and follow-on maintenance.

Work closely with engineers to determine best practices.

Coordinate, setup and configure Army virtual environment and services.

Attend formal meetings (e.g., technical and programmatic) as required.

Keep the team up to date on modernization strategy, planning and implementation.

Provide briefing material as required to support the program. Presents briefs to team and stakeholders as required. Provide point papers and decision papers as required.

Collaborate and develop IT Enterprise Strategy and annual IT Enterprise Guidance.

Qualifications

Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field and minimum 10 years of experience, or master’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience with current and emerging system, network security tools and applications, experience and knowledge developing or implementing security strategies, policies and procedures for cloud.

Active DOD 8570 IAT level II certification.

Strong organizational skills and ability to hold employees accountable in a positive leadership manner.

HQ/Staff/Action Officer experience and some leadership/supervisory experience, and a basic understanding the military, civilian government or Intelligence Community structure.

Experience with analyzing client "as-is" and "to-be" business requirements, software technical solutions and constraints, and translate them into comprehensive, full technical stack solution approaches that satisfy both client solution performance and corporate business performance objectives.

Risk Management Framework (RMF) familiarization.

Flexibility – the environment is highly dynamic. Candidate will be expected adapt to a dynamic environment with constant changing priorities based on Client priorities while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness and professionalism.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent ability to communicate technical solution concepts through development of white papers, requests for information, and technical proposals.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of DA policy and planning efforts, IT enterprise goals and objectives, and other required functions.

Experience with Army Unified Network (AUN) capability and the Enterprise Information Environment Mission Area (EIEMA) strategy.

Experience with DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF), NIST Zero Trust Architecture and best business practices.

Knowledge of SAP Operations.

Contracting/ IT Portfolio Management (PfM) experience.
