We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team in the financial services industry. The Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions and also work on migrating applications to cloud-based solutions across Azure and Kubernetes platforms. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud architecture, containerization, and platform services, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance within our financial services environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, enhance performance, and deliver resilient solutions tailored to business needs.

What you’ll own

Define Platform Architecture for New/Existing products by evaluating the business drivers for change and identifying the architectural changes necessary to realize business value.Effectively drives system design, technology assessment, technical platform definition and define product line architecture roadmap.Develop and implement cloud strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalable, resilient, and secure architectures using Azure and hybrid cloud environments.Leverage expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift to manage containerized workloads, ensure high availability, and optimize resource utilization for enterprise-grade applications.Lead cloud migration projects and facilitate the transition of existing on-premises systems to the cloud while minimizing disruption to business operations.Monitor systems performance and ensure solutions are optimized for speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Create, maintain & refresh Platform’s Current + Transition state Architectures, in compliance with documented Standards & Patterns.Identify, analyze, and resolve platform’s design weaknesses.Partner with Enterprise Architecture to document Platform specific Standards and Patterns.Partners with Technology, Infrastructure and Security to ensure effective design, development, testing, and deployment, and support of all IT solutions.Integrate and enforce best practices for security, identity, and compliance requirements, adhering to industry standards and regulations within the financial services sector.Collaborate closely with multiple parties (Product Management, Agile Release Train members, Architects, DevOps etc.) from across Worldpay to brainstorm and pick best solutions for a problem within the constraints of the system.Keeps abreast of emerging payment technology and architecture and provides insights and POVs to engineering leadership team.Assist with investigation of live system issues and propose solutions to address the root causeMentor junior team membersAttends all SAFe/Agile related ceremonials

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience and 3-5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect managing private/public cloud solutions, ideally within the financial services industry.Must have led technology direction for multiple projects and led or presented architecture concepts outside realm of immediate workgroupProficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring of containers.Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, encryption, security best practices and cloud governance policies.Ability to work on your own as well as in a team, within an onshore/offshore modelAbility to provide direction, expertise, and support to other team membersStrong understanding of system architecture and general programming concepts and best practices and ability to lead solutions within themTen or more years demonstrated experience in working with relational (and/or hierarchical) databases - SQL, PL/SQL languageSound understanding and experience of the Agile software development lifecycleSuccessful design and implementation of applications in a shared service bureau environmentExperience in building On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP), batch and reporting systemsExperience in using Unified Modeling Language (UML) for Object ModelingKnowledge of Worldpay products, services and financial services industry

Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)Prior experience in leading cloud migration projects within a highly regulated industry.Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in managing environments in a financial services context and familiarity with associated regulatory requirements.

Worldpay is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $129,990.00 - $218,380.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.  . This position may be eligible for bonus and/or commission.
