IT Asset Coordinator

ALTA IT has a Contract position open for a IT Asset Coordinator. 
Arlington, VA (100% ONSITE)

The IT Asset Coordinator is responsible for managing the pickup, transport, and auditing of IT assets across various Arlington county government locations. This role involves ensuring accurate inventory records, coordinating asset transfers, and supporting the overall IT asset management process to maintain an organized and efficient inventory system.
Key Responsibilities: Asset Deliver/Pickup and Transport Coordinate and schedule pickups of IT assets from different company buildings. Safely transport IT equipment between locations, ensuring minimal risk of damage. Verify asset details during pickup, including serial numbers, condition, and associated documentation. Inventory Audits: Conduct regular and ad-hoc inventory audits to verify asset records and ensure accuracy. Reconcile physical asset counts with asset management systems. Identify discrepancies and work with relevant teams to resolve issues. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of asset movements, including pickup, transport, and delivery. Update asset management systems with accurate information regarding asset status, location, and condition. Prepare and submit regular reports on asset inventory, audits, and any anomalies. Asset Management Support: Assist in the tagging, labeling, and categorization of IT assets. Support the IT department in managing the lifecycle of assets, including decommissioning and disposal processes. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding asset management. Collaboration: Work closely with IT, facilities, and other departments to facilitate smooth asset transfers and resolve any issues. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to coordinate activities and address concerns. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus. Experience: Previous experience in asset management, logistics, or a related role is preferred. Familiarity with IT equipment and asset management systems is advantageous. Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling asset records. Ability to lift and transport equipment safely. Proficiency in using computers and basic software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, asset management tools). Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Working Conditions: Frequent travel between Arlington County government locations. Potential exposure to various office environments and equipment. #M2
