IT Asset Inventory Specialist

AIS is seeking IT Asset Inventory Specialists to support a large-scale physical inventory project at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The successful candidates will be responsible for locating, verifying, and documenting off-network IT computing devices to ensure compliance with organizational requirements. This effort will also support the development of long-term solutions to reduce off-network devices. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Responsibilities

Conduct physical inventories and verifying asset locations

Coordinate with property custodians to schedule visits

Collect data on devices and collaborate with an internship team to identify process improvements

Document and report on progress

Administer policies governing procurement, maintenance, or disposal of IT assets

Record assets received by the organization and track location or use from purchase to disposal

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Experience with Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Excel

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter

Excellent communication abilities

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test

Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position

This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
