IT Asset Management-Vice President

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $153,000.00 and $196,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

As the Technology IT Asset Management (HAM/SAM) controls you will be responsible for various aspects of the IT Asset Management practice for AD Technology. Your responsibilities will include working with AD group companies and entities to provide ITAM Program support and direction to ensure governance, including policies, controls, standards, and procedures, are in place to meet SMBC’s regulatory, operational, audit and reporting requirements when it comes to hardware and software asset management. Responsible for assisting the team to maintain accurate inventory of all hardware and software assets, both physical and virtual, and to provide governance support for compliance in relation to standard hardware for both end user and data center products with internal policies, controls, and third-party contracts. This includes the end-to-end asset lifecycle from planning, acquisition, deployment, management, and decommission/disposal of IT assets. The ITAM Process lead will also be responsible for support requirements for regulatory, internal/external audits, as needed. The role will report to the ITAM Governance Lead and is responsible for supporting the build-out and operations of the AD Technology IT Asset Management practice.

Role Objectives

•    Lead business process workshops with the various internal technology teams to identify risks and design future state improvements to increase data quality and drive process standardization globally. 
•    Support lifecycle asset management tasks, projects, activities and engagements for the ITAM program.
•    Extensive experience with process governance and data quality remediation
•    Works with ITAM leadership to develop and enhance lifecycle asset management strategy, company policies and processes that align with the programs and customer’s business objectives.
•    Analyzes new and complex lifecycle asset management-related problems and creates innovative solutions that address schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management.
•    Manages the daily tracking of internal data quality dashboards overseeing acquisitions, deployments, asset utilization, and disposition of IT assets.
•    Contributes to the maturity of processes and procedures enhancing IT asset data quality and process compliance.
•    Manage internal IT Asset Management dashboards, metrics, visualizations and reports and report updates to senior leadership.
•    Assist in creation of compliance reports and analysis to review with asset and business application owners for support renewals, audits, or ad hoc requirements on a regular basis.
•    Monitor hardware compliance and usage to identify, reallocate and remove unused IT assets.
•    Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
•    Coordinate with team members in the daily administration of all IT asset management related activities. 
•    Assist in coordinating requirements for asset validations, reconciliation and remediation in support of contract renewals by providing them an overview of what they currently have, what they use and what they should tune-up or renew.
•    Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills

•    A minimum of at least 8-10 years of experience in IT Asset and Business Process Management practices in large global financial organizations.  
•    Demonstrated experience with both HAM and SAM governance development and optimization.
•    Supported large scale delivery of an IT Asset and Configuration Management program within a global setting
•    Working technical and governance knowledge of ITAM processes and tools
•    Supporting knowledge of Asset Management technologies and best practices/frameworks 
•    Excellent analytical and data handling skills
•    General understanding of regulatory requirements such as: FFIEC and NIST
•    Be proactive and anticipate roadblocks, assist with issue escalations.
•    Experience leading diverse and geographically dispersed technology teams.
•    Strong communication skills – Spelling, Grammar, and ability to succinctly convey details in a non-technical way.
•    Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive. 
•    Demonstrated relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across business units and key functional support areas. 
•    Strong judgmental and critical thinking skills
•    Detail oriented, with proven ability to challenge and identify opportunities within existing processes and business practices.
•    BS or BA in Management Information Systems, Information Management, or related field a plus 

Technical Capabilities / Experience
•    Strong knowledge of ServiceNow/Hardware/Software Asset Management, CMDB, Discovery tools and technologies
•    Demonstrated experience of Software Licensing, HW/SW procurement and contract best practices.
•    IT Transformation or modernization Program Experience is a plus. 
•    Experience or education around contracts and contract interpretation
•    Knowledge of top publisher licensing for both end user and data center products

Certifications and Training:
•    Certified Hardware Asset Manager (CHAM), IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Hardware Asset Professional (CHAMP), Software Asset Professional (CSAM), (Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), Software vendor licensing training programs, Certified Asset Management Security Expert (CAMSE)
•    ServiceNow HAMPro/SAM Pro/CMDB, Some knowledge of Airwatch, SCCM, Tanium, InTune, JAMF, Technopedia, eProcurement, Oracle Cloud
