Overview

The Information Technology Asset Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, standards, systems and KPI’s that assist the organization in effectively managing its asset portfolio.  Additionally, the role ensures compliance with IT Governance established by the company to manage cost, reduce risk, and to increase quality, control, and performance.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities:   

Centralizes asset management for all technology assets, i.e. hardware, software and service agreementsEnsures corporate guidelines are followed for managing changes and access to systems.Designs processes relating to software and hardware asset management; executes and enhances themImplements enterprise, standard processes to cover Plan, Acquire, Deploy, Manage, Retire & Dispose stages of the asset lifecycleDevelops and maintains a central database of information such as licenses, service agreements, and warranties for the organization’s software and hardwareDrives informed purchasing decisions, proactive resource replenishment, improved quality of IT services, and knowledge of the total cost of ownership of an assetEnsures process efficiency by implementing key performance indicators; suggests process improvementsDevelops accurate recording, identification, validation, and reporting procedures so that informed decisions to maintain, modify, rehabilitate, repurpose, or disposal of assets can be managedImplements procurement standards and procedures that control and optimize technology spend.Collaborates with Finance and Legal departmentsSupports IT budgetManages activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer to requests from software editors effectivelyCollaborates with technology service and infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performance, and to forecast demandPerforms research on industry best practice and incorporates it with organizational practicesPerforms detailed, physical inventory of organization’s software and hardware assets Qualifications   Bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience in applicable rolesComprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principlesPerforms complex tasks typically following established processesLeads and directs the work of other employees.Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.Typically reports to a department head.Leadership skills. Judgement. Creativity. Organizational skills. Technical expertise. Debugging skills. Problem-solving skills. Design expertise.Infrequent travel to Company or client locations. Will be required on occasion.Performs work under direct supervision.The physical demands described here are the minimum requirements of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job duty.  While performing his or her job duties an employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and or stoop.  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.  Must also be able to work indoors and outdoors.
