Full Time Contract Title: IT Business Analyst Compensation: up to $60/ hr. depending on experience Location: This is a hybrid position in Piscataway, NJ, with potential for up to 2 days remote. Length of Contract: 6 months + Job Description: Our client is a technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, and they publish a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science and electronics and is a leading developer of international standards that underpin many of today's telecommunications, information technology and power generation products and services. They are looking for a technical Business Analyst to support their efforts on software development initiatives. The Business Analyst will be a key facilitator that works closely with business program and product managers, and the IT teams to deliver technology solutions that add business value. This role acts as the bridge between project stakeholders and IT teams, is accountable for both the business requirements and functional specifications and is responsible for driving necessary business communication. As an integral team member of the IT BRM and PMO team, the Business Analyst leads both the effort of defining software requirements and ensuring those requirements are accurately developed. The incumbent is also responsible for forging strong relationships with business relationship managers and ensuring alignment with IT solutions, our client's infrastructure, and processes with industry best practices. Responsibilities: + Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to determine business, functional and technology requirements that support organizational business goals, documenting those requirements, and working with Product Owners, Developers, Project Managers, and QA Analysts to deliver business technology solutions including: + Translate business needs into solutions that interoperate, create efficiencies, provide the highest level of customer experience and drive improved utilization of self-service/automation by internal and/or external users. + Analysis and recommendation of innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality of process, increase productivity, availability and performance to aide in long term strategic and operational goals. + Documentation of requirements, test case oversight and change management procedures from a business owner perspective for existing mission critical systems & applications ensuring change meets (or exceeds) business objectives. + Collaborate with the Product Owner, Stakeholders and Delivery Team(s) to gather functional and non-functional requirements. + Facilitate sessions with all relevant stakeholders to drive clarity and agreement on requirements + Oversight of the design of applications and the mapping of functional business requirements into technical requirements/agile stories. + Transition of services and oversight of application migration when appropriate, including documentation, communication, and approvals with all relevant units and business owners + Responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of assigned projects. + Incorporation of architecture and security requirements. Required Qualifications: + Strong business analysis, and project management skills ( Ideally 5 + years of BA experience ) + Strong experience in gathering and defining requirements, analyzing/mapping business processes, supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of solutions, services, products, and applications. + Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture ( There may be multiple applications, but the software application tech stack will typically include Java, Java Script, AWS, Power BI for data visualization, and there may be some AI related initiatives as well. ) + Good knowledge of business information technology best practices and a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle + Strong analytical skills and proven track record of utilizing team-based approach to quickly and accurately resolve system/solution issues. + Strong understanding of system development, IT and business process and their inter-relationship. + Capability to motivate others within a non-direct reporting structure to execute change + Strong communication and writing skills on a business and technical level. + Strong skills in documentation for business and technology user audiences. Preferred Qualifications: + PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) Education & Certifications: + Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
