Position Summary

Develop and maintain short, medium and long term category management and strategic sourcing plans, spend profiles, and pipeline of opportunitiesSchedule and maintain cadence of regularly scheduled sourcing and category management reviews and planning sessions with key leaders within the assigned business area; establish self as category management and strategic sourcing leader and expertGuide analyst base on sourcing activities to ensure successful execution of RFx events for categoryAccountable for quantifying and delivering against savings targets for categoryServe as execution lead on major Sourcing events with high complexity, spend, and/or visibilityEducate business partners on policies and processes in place to support Strategic Sourcing; communicate and demonstrate team’s value proposition Maintain status of all completed, active, and planned sourcing activities to review with Strategic Sourcing managementEffectively communicate Strategic Sourcing’s value proposition and goals to key leaders and stakeholders  Leverage spend analytics, market intelligence, and expiring contracts reporting to continuously build pipeline of opportunities for sourcing to address within categoryMaintain strong working relationship with CVS Health’s business and vendor management teams, ensuring that Strategic Sourcing is engaged early on all prospective engagements requiring vendor supportWork with stakeholders to develop bid strategies and create effective scope of work documents for competitive bid processesDevelop processes to ensure that CVS Health’s business stakeholders are utilizing preferred suppliers wherever possible, thereby leveraging the enterprise’s scale to drive greater value for the companyCollaborate with CVS Health’s contracting team to identify new and creative approaches to contracting with vendor partners



Required Qualifications

5 years of professional experience related to IT Strategic Sourcing & Category Management creating category planning aligned with and in partnership with IT and BU stakeholders and their roadmap strategies.  5 years of experience of building and presenting complex business cases to senior leaders in Procurement, Finance, IT and Business Units.  5 years of experience with IT Supply Chain, Procurement Analytics, Project Management, or Management Consulting5 years of proven experience negotiating complex technology agreements5 years of experience with developing vendor management and supplier consolidation plansAbility to travel up to 15% for supplier presentations, site visits, and key department meetings at RI Headquarters (no more than quarterly)Ability to work onsite 3 days week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)



Preferred Qualifications

Ability to quickly capture, analyze, and summarize large data setsExperience with electronic sourcing platforms, such as ServiceNow, Ariba eSourcing, etc. is a plusBackground and use of Project/Program Management tools and methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, etc)Strong organization and project management skillsShown ability to handle multiple tasks without direct supervision, while paying strong attention to detail and follow-upIntellectually curious, eager to gain new experiences, qualifications, and responsibilitiesPossess a strong business acumen and high level of problem solving and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to confidently and expertly interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levelsStrong analytical ability, strategic thinker, learn and process new information quickly


Education

Bachelor’s degree required, focus in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration/Supply Chain preferred.  MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
