Detailed Job Description:

10+ year of experience in storage and backup administration Perform daily storage provisioning configuration changes. Perform san zoning configuration changes and allocate storage to specific servers/applications Perform capacity planning, performance analysis and other needs assessments as requested by upper management. Troubleshoot/diagnose and resolve complex problems involving servers, san storage and san switches Strong expertise in microsoft dpm, emc avamar, mars backup technologies Perform on-going optimization of the systems to ensure adequate capacity, availability and scalability. Manage backup schedules and policies. Restore and recover data as requested. Facilitate off-site storage of tape On-call in a 24x7x365 environment. The storage engineer would be involved with daily storage operational tasks such as provisioning, storage connectivity, storage allocation, incident problem management and the implementation of changes to the storage operational infrastructure. Understanding of itil service management Must be detail oriented, committed to deadlines and have solid verbal and written communication skills. Work with vendors to ensure maintenance coverage for all relevant it infrastructure. Work with application teams to determine storage requirements

Preferred:

Strong documentation & reporting skills Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours. Experience on unix/linux will be an added advantage
