Responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute:

Understand client requirement, and provide end to end solution and timelines. Installation and commissioning of new p - series frames in the environment Lead and direct deployment/migration of LPARS from old IBM p-series frames to new frames Technical Management of pre-cutover, during and post cutover tasks Co-ordinate and manage migrations/cutovers aligning to ITIL and Client processes. Document and provide best practices on maintenance and configuration documentation of migrated systems Security vulnerability remediation and patching to desired TL/SP levels of new/migrated AIX LPARs Vendor co-ordination and liaising

Experience:

Strong hands on experience in AIX administration 5+ years Exposure and some experience on other Unix technologies e.g. Solaris, Linux (Redhat, Suse, Ubuntu) will be a plus Experience in management and installation of IBM p-series systems ( p7, p8) Exposure to build and manage VIO servers. Experience in data center migrations and consolidations for Unix technology Experience in installation/configuration of a clustered, high availability environment using PowerHA and other clustering softwares. Experience in Virtualization (LPAR/DLPAR) Capacity planning and performance management Basic understanding of network technologies and architecture Basic understanding of storage and backups technologies Experience in remote server build tools and process (NIM) Automation using Shell scripting (shell/PERL/python) Experience in a large, geographically dispersed environment Experience in OS recovery/Disaster recovery Strong experience Server migration/platform upgrades/patching (security and bug fixes) Experience in monitoring (h/w and OS) solutions for AIX and Unix systems Experience in solution design / Configuration/solutions evaluation/ Validation and deployment Exposure to ITIL processes (incident, problem, change) and working in a process oriented environment is a must Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in team environment Experience in vendor management and co-ordination Excellent verbal, written communications and interpersonal skills Excellent team management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent Planning and Co-ordination skills Experience in leading a globally dispersed team of at least 6-8 people Experience and desire to work in a management consulting domain IBM Certifications in AIX and/or p-series systems
