The candidate will need to use his/her own equipment or travel to NC to collect the equipment on the first day. This position supports the GIS Units geospatial web services development and maintenance, Esri ArcGIS Online enterprise product, and geospatial and mobile data collection efforts through a wide variety of activities and responsibilities including product development and maintenance, customer support, tool development and maintenance, project team work, small task management, new technology research and development, and applying technical knowledge and experience to Unit level problem solving. Candidate must be available to work M-F from 8AM-5PM Eastern Time. Candidates in different time zones must receive pre-approval from staff prior to start date to work based on location. Knowledge and skills: • Has advanced knowledge of and experience with creating and publishing services to Esri ArcGIS Server, including backend configuration. • Has advanced knowledge of and experience with Esris ArcGIS Online product and capabilities, including the map viewer, templates, story maps, Surveu123, web application builder, and experience builder. • Has an advanced understanding of Esris product suite, including desktop, server, and web products. • Has a working knowledge of general GIS concepts related to data, analysis, cartography, and editing. • Has an applied knowledge of product development, including requirements, design, development, implementation, and maintenance. • Has demonstrated experience with simple ArcPy, Python scripting, and Esri ArcGIS model builder. • Can locate and/or team with appropriate resources in the GIS Unit and NCDOT to provide quality customer solutions. • Can consult with senior level technical staff and decision-makers, on an ongoing basis, to formulate solutions. • Can work independently with customers to understand requirements and collaboratively develop solutions. • Has demonstrated positive customer service skills and attitude. • Can apply technical knowledge and experience to a wide variety of problems and situations • Can develop and manage small project module plans and drive projects modules forward. • Can assist with developing training plans and can provide one-on-one or small group customer training. • Can clearly communicate technical issues to technical people and non-technical people. • Can work effectively independently and with little supervision. • Is well organized and can effectively multi-task. • Can effectively communicate through writing; both technical and non-technical. • Can learn and apply new technologies quickly.
