Summary This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command. The incumbent will serve as a Zero Trust Specialist within the USTRANSCOM's Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems Directorate. As an IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) at the NH-2210-03 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a Risk Management and Compliance Specialist within USTRANSCOM Command, Control, Communications and Cyber Systems Directorate. Develops specifications to ensure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts conform with security, resilience, and dependability requirements at the software application, system, and network environment level. Conducts independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls (as defined in NIST 800-37). Analyzes the security of new or existing computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs and provides actionable results. Addresses security implications in the software acceptance phase including completion criteria, risk acceptance and documentation, common criteria, and methods of independent testing. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Creating, reviewing, and delivering governance documentation, strategies, road maps, charters, and standards Assessing risk and mission impacts of security vulnerabilities Developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization requirements for on-premise, cloud-based or big data storage environments Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
