We are currently seeking a IT Disaster Recovery Manager to join our team in Mclean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

NTT DATA is looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery Manager to oversee disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) planning on a federal government IT program. The Disaster Recovery Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity strategies that ensure the resilience and continuity of IT services. This role requires in-depth knowledge of federal regulations, risk management, and IT infrastructure, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring rapid recovery in the event of a disaster.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for disaster recovery and business continuity efforts during a disaster, coordinating response activities and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee the management and operation of DR sites, including off-site storage, backup solutions, and failover systems, ensuring they are ready for activation in the event of a disaster. Coordinate and lead regular DR/BC drills and tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and federal stakeholders to ensure that DR/BC plans integrated into the overall IT strategy and operational processes. Manage the DR/BC lifecycle, including planning, implementation, testing, and maintenance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with industry best practices. Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the federal IT enterprise, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and federal regulations. Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical IT systems and processes that require recovery planning. Support and participate in disaster recovery exercises for both on-premises and cloud, which confirms the ability to fully failover to secondary colocation facility or cloud region and return to operational status to support the mission of program.  Design and establish DR/BC frameworks and procedures, including backup and recovery strategies, to ensure the resilience of IT services. Ensure compliance with federal regulations, such as FISMA, NIST SP 800-34, and other relevant standards, by maintaining up-to-date documentation and audit trails. Develop and implementation of business impact analysis, recovery strategies, business continuity planning documents, business continuity plan, and test and exercise documents. Provide training and awareness programs for staff to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities in disaster recovery and business continuity scenarios. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of DR/BC plans, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary updates to enhance resilience.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Continuity Management, or a related field. 8 years' xperience managing recovery and continuity services for a large federal government agency with multiple enterprise class data centers and multiple national offices and field sites. Familiar with Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) best practices Thorough understanding of NIST 800-34 Contingency Planning 10  years of experience in disaster recovery, business continuity 10 years of experience in developing and managing DR/BC plans for federal government IT and experience planning tools, risk assessment methodologies, and project management software. Minimum of 7 years of experience with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions and virtualization technologies is a plus. Relevant certifications required: Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (US citizen or Green Card holder)
