This is a newly created position to help meet the IT needs of Fortinet’s rapidly growing workforce. With over 14,000 people worldwide (and growing) and the implementation of new IT systems, we are looking for a beginner-to-intermediate-level Network Engineer to help us ensure 24x7 network support. In this critical role you will be based at Fortinet Headquarters at Sunnyvale, California and support our global distribution of network and server systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a network security company and utilize the latest systems and equipment to support our network availability.

Responsibilities:
Work under the guidance of senior network engineers to deploy new communication network
for Fortinet current/new offices within the USA.
Execute initial configurations of Fortigates, FortiSwitches, console servers, network
PDUs, monitoring devices, etc.
Install and upgrade network hardware; configure firewall policies.
Gathering information, documenting and updating network topologies.
Ordering network devices, rack-mounting, and cabling.
Manage the ticketing system
Respond, troubleshoot and resolve first-level support requests
Coordinates and communicates with users
Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours
Travels about 7 times per year within the US to assist with deployment and maintenance of
Fortinet offices networks.
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs of equipment needed for deployment at Fortinet branch offices.

Skills and requirements:
Understanding of networking hardware and infrastructure
Experience with network devices installation and network physical connections
Very good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols
Certifications in network engineering are a plus
Strong multi-tasking abilities
Excellent team work, can-do attitude and communication skills with end-users are essential.
Excellent English oral and written.

Education:
AA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent education and experience)

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $80,000 - $125,000 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion
