IT Field Service Technician

Raymour & Flanigan's IT Infrastructure Team is looking for someone who is motivated, organized and can work independently at our locations supporting IT efforts in the field. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's technology infrastructure. You'll be the face of IT in the field, providing low-voltage cable installation, computer and network equipment support, equipment inspections and training of associates on new IT equipment and processes. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Respond promptly to IT-related issues reported by associates or identified during routine site visits. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems efficiently. Be the go-to person for IT-related matters at various locations. Collaborate with store managers and associates to address their technology needs. Monitor and address network, telephony, and other IP equipment outages. Ensure seamless communication and connectivity across sites. Execute hands-on tasks related to IT infrastructure, including equipment installation, cabling checks, and equipment replacement. Experience with installation and termination of interior structured low-voltage copper and fiber data cabling. Conduct regular preventive maintenance on network devices, servers, and peripherals. Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets. Inspect equipment racks, replace fans, and clean filters as needed. Manage the replacement schedule for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) batteries. Visit stores regularly to build strong relationships with associates. Act as the face of IT, addressing concerns and collecting feedback. Proactively identify open or unreported IT issues, escalating critical issues promptly. Quickly replace faulty components to minimize downtime. Create and update network diagrams and floor plans documenting configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Install and configure new equipment such as kiosks, TVs and people counters ensuring proper functionality and integration. Train associates on IT-related matters. Design and display informative signs in breakrooms. Assist during new store openings by setting up IT infrastructure. Educate associates on cybersecurity best practices to foster a security-conscious culture.

Required Skills and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA) preferred. Proven experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Valid driver's license. Clean driving record for at least one year. Ability to drive for extended periods. Experience using GPS technology. Familiarity with network equipment, cabling, and power systems. Customer service-oriented mindset. Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success. Good time-management skills. Great interpersonal, communication and documentation skills. Must be a team player and be able to communicate well with the IT team and stakeholders. Must be able to work safely from lifts and / or ladders when needed.
