IT Governance Intern
JOB SUMMARY Nabors is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT Governance Summer Intern to join our Technology Governance team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT governance, risk management, compliance, and internal controls. You will work closely with senior team members to ensure that the organization's IT systems and processes comply with established standards, regulations, and best practices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Support Internal and External Audit process by coordinating with auditors and control owners to gather evidence and create audit documentation as needed. + Aid in documenting governance policies and procedures, preparing reports, and helping to track compliance issues. + Support the development and enhancement of IT governance policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and reduce potential risks. + Assist in tracking invoices and, license allocation, expirations and renewals. + **Ad hoc Projects:** Assist with special projects as required by the IT Governance team or other business units. + Follow up with technical teams on outstanding tasks assigned by IT Security Team. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. + Strong interest in IT governance, compliance, risk management, and cybersecurity. + Must be able to work full time, 40 hours a week for a minimum of 10 weeks. + GPA of 2.7 or higher (on a scale of 4.0). + Must be able to work in the area of assignment for an unlimited amount of time without visa sponsorship. + Be able to travel as needed. + Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, especially Executive communication, but also to individual client, consulting, subcontractor team members. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with limited guidance. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Detail-oriented and organized, with a proactive approach to tasks and challenges. + Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Previous experience or coursework in IT governance, compliance, or risk management. + Familiarity with data protection and privacy laws. + Experience with data analysis tools or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) software. + Knowledge of auditing practices and standards. BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES + Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. + Be able to work in both team and individual environment. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES + Demonstrate competency in technology and business software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS + Office environment; must coordinate with resources in other time zones. + May be required to visit a Rig environment to understand the nature of the business. + May require visits to Manufacturing locations and Maintenance facilities. + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and use hands. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision and distance vision.
