Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for an outstanding Infrastructure Engineer to join the Convene team in a fast-paced, agile environment to work on a broad range of business initiatives by leveraging a wide set of technologies and tools. You will be working to support our internal Convene team across venue property AV/IT infrastructure, multiple cloud environments, and a diverse range of networking technologies. You’ll be a member of a world-class team covering the UK market with the opportunity to participate in global projects and initiatives along with personal development.
What We Look For:
An individual in this position should possess:
3+ years of hands-on experience with: Juniper Junos Based Switching and Firewall Technologies with proficiency in the command line interface (CLI) WiFi 802.1ax/802.1be based technologies (experience with Extreme Networks CloudIQ and EkahauAI preferred) Familiarity with Crestron control systems and associated hardware, familiarity with AVoIP fundamentals a plus Familiarity with virtual meeting infrastructure as well as livestreaming technologies including cameras, encoders, and lighting, and transmission protocols i.e. RTMPs/HLS/SRT. IP Based Access Control and Security Camera Systems Proficiency in basic TCP/IP based protocols including IEEE 802.1q (VLANs), 802.1d (spanning tree), 802.3ad (LACP Link Aggregation), DHCP Terminating, tracing, and patching CAT6, CAT6A, and fibre optic based physical infrastructure Zendesk, Jira or other issue tracking systems Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems. Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders Care deeply about quality and knows what it means to deliver high quality experience Collaborative and adaptive, you’re comfortable wearing many different hats Have a fun personality, communicate clearly and a pleasure to work withWhat You’ll Do:
Work with a team of extremely talented engineers to build and maintain the infrastructure which powers the Convene and the Convene family of brands venues Maintain infrastructure with cloud based tools Conduct break/fix operations for AV and IT infrastructure on a on-call basis Participate in complex systems implementations Work with departments across the company and help the team respond quickly and effectively to business needs Be an escalation and point of contact across all UK based infrastructure Deploy tools and enforce policy to maintain best practices around IT Security Explore new technologies and have fun finding the best tools Ability to participate in on-call rotation (need a language from UK P&C)
