Job Summary:

Horizon BCBSNJ seeks a self-directed IT intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

The IT intern will be asked to participate in projects from inception to production deploymentAssist the Enterprise Applications team in the automation of job functions, creation of information management dashboards, and migration to the CloudAnalyze existing business functions and determine where automation opportunities existParticipate in team activities, including status meetings, design sessions, and code reviewsProvide and share weekly status updates

Requirements:

Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information System, or related fieldExperience with Java, Python, JavaScript, or related programming languageExperience with the following would be beneficial:  Jenkins (DevOPS oriented with Groovy, Pipelines, Shell script), knowledge towards GIT, DockerFamiliarity with data store and infrastructure componentsSoft Skills include: Analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong verbal and written communications; Willing to learn and be self-motivated

Location: 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ – Hybrid Work Schedule

Schedule: 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)

Duration: 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025)
