Description
The IT Inventory and Asset Specialist will collaborate with the IT management team, county departments, constitutional agency liaisons, and the County Clerk's fixed assets team to oversee the tracking and management of the county’s technology assets. This includes endpoints, edge devices, software, services, on-premises data center assets, and cloud services. The Specialist will also support fiscal responsibilities, with a focus on ensuring accurate inventory management to maintain the County IT Department’s revenue.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Asset Management: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for the full lifecycle of IT assets, from acquisition to disposal.
+ Reporting: Ensure timely and precise inventory data reporting to relevant stakeholders, helping drive informed decision-making.
+ Policy Development: Advise in creating and enforcing policies and procedures to maintain effective control and management of technology assets.
+ Auditing & Reconciliation: Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of asset records.
+ Software License Compliance: Manage software license validation requests and maintain compliance records.
+ Procurement Support: Assist in procurement activities, including entering requisitions, processing invoice payments, and contributing to the budget development process.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments and external agencies to ensure seamless management of IT assets and adherence to regulations.
+ Fiscal Responsibility: Support the County IT Department’s revenue management tied to accurate inventory processes.
Education, Experience, Licensing
+ A combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by specialized courses or training equivalent to one year of college in business or a related field.
+ Two years of experience in IT asset management, procurement, purchasing, finance, fiscal, logistics, supply chain management, IT support, database administrator, or a closely related field.
+ A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
Supplemental Information
+ Strong understanding of IT management frameworks and best practices.
+ Familiarity with software license management and IT asset auditing.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
+ Experience with public sector or government agencies is preferred.
Work Schedule:
+ Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
