IT Manager
Overview Juncos Hollinger Racing is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Manager to join our team! Position Summary: This role is a hands-on support role that requires the implementation, operation and management of both the Workshop and trackside IT equipment. The individual will support and maintain all IT inventory, including laptops, servers, network and assist with intercom/radio equipment as needed. With seamless communication critical for team performance, this role is critical to the efficient running of the business operations. The individual will help foster a positive, innovative environment that allows for efficient but secure knowledge and information sharing within the business. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Daily Operations Oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s key IT systems, introducing improvements as needed, within budget and in line with the company’s wider goals and objectives. Maintain, optimize and improve the IT architecture as the company’s needs evolve and change ensuring that capacity planning is front of mind during changes and growth periods. Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT items, ensuring orders are placed in advance and with budget requirements in mind. Secure and maintain the ongoing security of all the Business Systems including Microsoft 365 Management. Establish and maintain email distribution lists for use by staff e.g. all staff, mechanics, back-office staff etc. as required for business use. Employee Assistance Provide daily assistance to all staff encountering issues with connectivity, access or hardware. Prepare IT hardware and email domains for New Joiners. Assist employees in ensuring access to shared folders and documentation is being backed up routinely. Collaborate with colleagues and the senior leadership team to identify issues and implement solutions that support business objectives and improve operational efficiency Race / Test Onsite setup & support Set up the internet/network requirements at each off-site activity including all tests and races. Implement wireless networks, including the deployment of bridges and mesh networks as necessary at the Racetrack. Ancillary components: ensure quantity and quality of adapters, power cables etc. available on the transporters for race weekends and tests, supports the number of employees and guests. A healthy supply of back up components should also be available at any given time. Procedures & Policies Support the development of IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as IT best practices. Then continually review and update these policies and procedures as necessary. Communicate and distribute timely and clear information to staff on any IT hardware, network or server issues that will impact their ability to work, including access to files, emails or the internet. Implement and maintain a clear procedure on New Joiners as well as Exiting employees to ensure access is granted or removed timely to protect company knowledge. Maintain ‘New Joiner’ and ‘Exiting Staff’ documentation that clearly step through all elements including hardware acquisition/return, email setup (including signature standards), network access to folders, printer access, internet passwords, expectations around hardware maintenance. Server Room Review server room hardware and setup, ensuring it is adequate to meet the business needs. Propose enhancements with justifications to ensure the security, capacity and stability of the company’s IT infrastructure are top priority. Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the server room and all equipment contained within. Vendor Management Maintain strong and effective vendor relationships, identifying, sharing and if decided, implementing new innovations and/or capabilities that will benefit the company. Manage vendor contract negotiations and performance monitoring, to ensure the delivery of high-quality service. Budget Understand the Department budget, continually monitoring spend whilst working closely with the Team Manager and Finance department to ensure all business needs are secure and adequately maintained. Requirements: Demonstrate relevant experience, (motorsport industry specifics can be taught). Minimum two (2) years of experience in managing O365 environment including implementing security best practices required. Minimum two (2) years of hardware evaluation, acquisition, installation and maintenance experience required. Minimum two (3) years of experience with technical problem resolution and support required including MS OS desktop support. Minimum two (3) years of server support experience including File Servers, Domain Controllers and Print Servers required. Minimum two (2) years of experience with installation & support of network equipment including routers, switches and firewalls. Ability and willingness to travel to all races and tests throughout the season. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and passion for the role. Strong understanding of IT architecture including servers, cloud storage, email and applications. Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors. Strong problem-solving skills, remaining calm under pressure and in high intensity environments whilst working to deliver a timely fix. Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email. A keen eye for detail and maintaining high standards whilst drawing satisfaction from getting things done. Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture Physical Requirements and Body Mechanics As part of our Indy racing team, this role involves physically demanding tasks that require strength, coordination, and safe body mechanics. Candidates must be able to: Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent strain or injury. Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, and twisting, especially in tight or confined spaces, while maintaining proper posture and body mechanics. Safely handle tools, equipment, and racing components, ensuring ergonomic handling to minimize risks of musculoskeletal injuries. Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, often in varying weather conditions, while adhering to safety protocols related to body positioning and movement. Proper body mechanics are critical to maintaining the safety and performance of our team. Training in safe lifting techniques and ergonomic practices will be provided to support team members' well-being.
