The IT Manager of COE SOX Compliance ensures Ferguson’s IT processes meet the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act requirements. This role leads a team of compliance coordinators, managing IT SOX controls, internal/external audit requests, and remediation efforts. The position drives control efficiency, provides recommendations for process improvements, and ensures consistent compliance across the organization.
Location: This position may be remote or hybrid in accordance with company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of compliance coordinators executing the IT SOX program, including audit support, walkthroughs, and remediation of deficiencies.Develop and implement Ferguson’s IT SOX compliance program, ensuring alignment with SOX requirements and deadlines.Maintain a high-quality inventory of key controls and ensure proper documentation.Coordinate IT SOX activities with internal/external auditors, including testing IT General Controls and application controls.Identify, assess, and remediate SOX deficiencies in collaboration with management.Deliver training and mentorship on IT SOX policies to control owners and performers.Evaluate the SOX impact of mergers, acquisitions, and system implementations.Prepare metrics and dashboards tracking compliance progress and improvement opportunities.Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or related field; CPA, CISA, CISSP, or CISM certifications preferred.5+ years of IT audit experience in public companies or large accounting firms (Big 4 experience preferred).Expertise in SOX compliance, IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, NIST), and internal controls.Familiarity with technologies like Oracle Cloud, Workday, Microsoft Azure, Linux/Unix, and SQL databases.Strong leadership, risk assessment, and project management skills in hybrid environments.Effective communicator with a proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.At Ferguson, we care for each other.
