THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: The IT Manager – Store Systems leads a team in the planning, development, modification, and support of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions as relates to Store Systems. These systems consist of Point-of-Sale, payments and back-office systems. As a manager of the software engineering team, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. This is a leader of people who clears obstacles for his/her team while empowering and enabling others to solve complex technical and business problems. To be successful, the individual in this role must bring a strong combination of business and technical acumen and be able to provide solutions that balance the unique needs of both the business and Technology. YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: Systems Development Management: Leads solution development projects which support the organization's objectives and plans. Ensures that management is both aware of each initiative and is able to provide the required resources. Reviews the progress of development projects, ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed standards (including industry & Ulta standards), methods and procedures. Relationship Management: Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans. Negotiates with stakeholders at senior levels and ensures that organizational policy and strategies are adhered to. Quality Management: Leads the application of appropriate quality management techniques to identify areas for improvement. Coordinates systematic corrective action to reduce errors and improve the quality of the systems and services, by examination of the root causes of problems. Resourcing: Implements resource plans, including conducting recruitment interviews. Facilitates selection, assessment and on-boarding processes, and internal resource allocation. Performance Management: Supervises individuals by allocating routine tasks and/or project work. Provides direction, support and guidance as necessary, in line with individuals’ skills and abilities. Monitors progress against agreed quality and performance criteria. Innovation/Strategic Thinking: Drive a holistic vision and strategy for Store Systems across the enterprise. Seek new opportunities, methods, trends, capabilities, and products for the advancement of the Store Systems and align those to business benefits. Ability to objectively evaluate and challenge the status quo and leverage the right methodologies to accelerate progress. Maintain a strong understanding of industry and business, assisting the broader IT organization in the formation of strategy and approach to exploit technology, skills and methods to drive significant impact to the bottom line. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive a fun, high-performing culture and provide leadership for the Store Systems team to grow, thrive and deliver the mission. Controls project risks by analyzing and identifying trigger events, establishing response and contingency plans, and recommending ways to mitigate future risks. Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, support, and scalability of robust, reliable, and secure Store Systems software solutions Maintain 24/7 availability to support production services. Ensure vendors with whom we partner to provide software, hardware or services to our retail stores are held to a high standard, and that grow and manage these relationships to ensure our retail stores are always properly supported. Shared responsibility to achieve and maintain compliance to PCI-DSS security standard. Shared responsibility in the protection of our customer’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII) ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience 5+ years of overall developmental experiences in Point of Sale, Payments and retail store systems Experience with Oracle Xstore, Verifone Fipay and RTS is a plus. 2+ years of experience leading technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members. Knowledge of Payment Card Industry Data Security (PCI DSS) is a plus. Ability to manage through conflicting priorities and tight deadlines. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Driver of results across teams, peers, stakeholders, and senior leaders through persuasion and articulating a vision of what is possible. Work with teams across onshore / offshore, remote work and staff augmentation models Flexibility to be available after hours, on weekends, and during peak season (holiday) as necessary to support the team and business operations.
