The Opportunity:
Responsible for evaluating, capturing, reporting, and creating engineering reports for all current analog voice connectivity and current available capacity on voice networks for selected existing ARMY base infrastructures. The IT Network Engineer supports the Unified Communications Engineer assessing current physical connectivity of all analog physical connections as well as all primary and secondary power connectivity to the voice switch networking equipment for selected ARMY bases throughout Germany. This position will gather and assess data to create detailed engineering drawings and implementation plans to support the migration of voice circuits from legacy telecommunication equipment to the modern Voice over IP Network. Creates a decommissioning plan for the removal of legacy voice network equipment and associated primary and backup power systems.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to support the design and implementation of a network solution based on Site Survey and solution engineering plans to migrate existing analog circuits form legacy voice networks to modern Voice over IP Networks
• Capture all existing network equipment hardware and record identified physical cabling for existing analog voice connections within the ARMY Voice network at specified bases throughout Germany.
• Experience capturing all existing primary and secondary power sources and physical connectivity to legacy voice networks and generate details site survey reports to be used in engineering a Voice Network Modernization solution.
• Understanding of Site Survey Reports in the US ARMY Information Systems Engineering Command (ISEC) standards and practices that accurately capture Voice Network connectivity, current available capacity on existing voice gateway equipment, current connectivity to far end distribution points.
• Knowledge of the Manage processes to plan, coordinate, manage, populate, share, and control US Government sensitive IP and voice communications information including circuit IDs and Government phone numbers, user data, and locations.
• Perform software and firmware patches, upgrades, and application updates to
new information technology equipment and systems as directed by the US Government.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, physical, and networking issues on the legacy Voice Switch Network and the modern Voice Over IP Network throughout the course of the project.

Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtaining and maintaining TS/TS SCI
• Seasoned technical individual contributor
• Works independently with limited supervision

• Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals
• Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex
• Influences others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures
• The minimum education and experience for this position is a bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience; or an Associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience; or, A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience; or, 11 years of recent specialized experience.
Desired:
• Experience conducting site-surveys documenting current network, voice, and power infrastructure.
• Experience supporting the development of designs and participate in reviews with the customer.
• Experience in remediating site infrastructure to support new equipment based on the approved design specifications.
• Experience conducting systems pre-test and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria based on approved test plan.
• Install / Configure equipment on-site and cutover legacy systems to new solution.
• Experience decommissioning, de-installing, and turning-in legacy Network equipment.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
