Role
Manager- IT Infrastructure Operations
Role Summary
The IT Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day to operations and fulfilment of business needs or Visteon Core IT infrastructure. This includes core compute, storage networks, data centers, and cloud services to ensure high availability and timely resolution of issues.
The role requires a strategic thinker with strong hands on technical expertise and leadership skills to manage the day to day operations , implement best practices, and maintain seamless communication with business and other IT groups
Primary Responsibilities
· Oversee the day to day operations for management and maintenance of global IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and data centers
· Ensure timely execution of business requirements of IT infrastructure needs by maintaining close cross functional interfaces across technical and non-technical teams
· Coordination with internal IT groups and 3rd party service providers around IT infrastructure management operational areas
· Maintain proactive capacity for infrastructure by continuously reviewing usage trends and forecast of and new requirements.
· Ensuring that systems are effectively monitored, and problems are proactively addressed.
· Manage incidents and problems related to infrastructure, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to services.
· Take direct ownership for highly critical incidents and drive timely closure
· Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization and cost savings.
· Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
· Lead and participate in infrastructure-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
· Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.
· Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
· Prepare and present reports on infrastructure performance, incidents, and other key metrics
· Coordination with technical teams to build hardware and software specs for new requirements and expansions
Skills & Experience
· Bachelor degree in IT/Computer Science or relevant discipline
· 20+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including 10+ years in a IT Infrastructure operations managerial role
· Effective team and people management skills
· Strong and hands on knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud services.
· Must be able to work independently with ownership.
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
· Past experience of working across geographically distributed teams
· Strong understanding and past experience in managing internal and private cloud infrastructure.
· Effective cross functional experience across various IT teams, Business, Finance and Procurement
· Sound understanding of Unix, Windows and Network related Infrastructure spread across virtual and hyperconverged systems.
· Ability to make quick decisions in complex situations.
· Past experience in working in IT captive / manufacturing domain.
· Ensure appropriate documentation of core IT process and system landscapes.
· Building operational & system efficiencies by reviewing trends and requitrements
