IT Policy Writer

Our Calgary-based client is seeking a skilled Policy Writer to join their team on a temporary basis for what is expected to be 160 hours of work or one month. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive policies for their Shared Platform, ensuring alignment between individual businesses, collective groups, and the vendor.
This role requires a strong understanding of technical IT concepts, particularly AWS, Microsoft, and Azure.
This is a hybrid role that is in the office for two days a week.
Responsibilities:
Develop and write clear, concise, and comprehensive policies for the Shared Platform.Collaborate with staff to understand their needs and incorporate them into policy documents.Ensure policies align with the requirements of individual businesses, collective groups, and the Vendor.Utilize technical IT knowledge to address and integrate AWS, Microsoft, and Azure-related aspects into policies.Review and update existing policies to ensure they remain current and effective.Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary revisions to policies.Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all written documents.Qualifications:
Strong technical knowledge of AWS, Microsoft, and Azure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. High attention to detail, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy in all documentation.Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.Ability to work in a hybrid work environment for the duration of the temporary position.Proven experience in policy writing, preferably in a healthcare or IT environment.Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Policy or a related fieldStrong understanding of regulatory guidelines, compliance standards, and governance frameworks relevant to Shared Platforms.Experience with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
