The IT Portfolio Director will serve as the strategic interface between the Enterprise PMO, IT business demand team, and the IT Delivery leadership. This role will work across the teams to support delivering high value solutions that support meeting business goals and provide transparency to when the organization will realize committed value. The IT Portfolio Director will manage incoming IT demand through various intake channels, monitor IT delivery and oversee IT delivery costs associated with the portfolio of work. They will be responsible for reporting on the overall portfolio, escalating prioritization, delivery or cost concerns and driving conflicts to resolution. They will also work with Enterprise and Delivery PMO teams to continue to enhance processes to improve ways of working. The IT Portfolio Director will report to VP, Clinical and Business Technology Solutions and will interface with business and IT leaders as well as the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a holistic portfolio view of prioritized business demand for IT initiatives by reviewing demand from various channels and working collaboratively with key stakeholders to understand priorities.
• Facilitate the movement of initiatives from an idea to development and release to value creation through regular ongoing reviews with IT Business Partners, IT Delivery leadership, and business stakeholders to ensure on-going alignment to priorities.
• Create executive leadership views and provide regular updates to functional leadership on work in progress and upcoming demand.
• Track IT delivery costs to various initiatives / programs / products and provide various financial reporting as needed.
• Work with EPMO, Business leadership and IT delivery teams to evaluate and refine processes and reporting.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly reporting on progress and areas for improvement.
• Lead and mentor IT demand analysts and project managers to provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful goal achievement.
• Develop career growth plans for team members and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Provide regular performance feedback and encourage continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or health-care related field.
Preferred:
• MBA

 

Minimum Experience
Required:
• 5-8 years of experience in IT program, product, or portfolio management
• 3 years as a Portfolio Manager, Consultant, or a similar role demonstrating business and IT collaboration
• Experience with executive messaging and reporting, demand management, IT delivery cost management
• Experience with process design and KPI development and reporting
Preferred:
• Experience in healthcare technology
• Experience in consulting or process improvement
• Experience with agile product delivery
• Familiarity with IT delivery / ITIL / Service Management

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Experience working in teams and collaborating with team members of various levels experience.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to engage and interact with both technical and business users of all levels.
• Ability to navigate and work in a highly ambiguous, unstructured work environment.
• Knowledge in IT service design and service delivery.
• Highly collaborative and able to solicit key inputs, data, and points of view.
• Ability to provide delivery rigor and report scorecard / key initiative status to leadership.
• Ability to frame and distill business and technology problems with a solution-oriented mindset and develop consultative, pragmatic technology-enabled solutions.
• Ability to synthesize risks and issues into impacts, options for resolutions and next steps.
• Ability to facilitate collaboration meetings and drive progress across leaders.
