Job Description:
To support IT division by overseeing an Outlook Mailbox routing for purchasing IT Goods and Services. Daily accounting, and accounts payable activities. Peforms adminstrative duties to support the division. Process invoices, procurement and reconciles vendor inquiries, request quotes for purchases of consumables for VDOT. Interprets and applies policies and interprets and develops procedures and processes in this area.
Oversees a wide range of administrative and technical functions necessary for effective office management. Independently performs all administrative and fiscal tasks with accuracy. Tasks include accounts payable and receivable, and procurement. Routinely responds to a variety of requests from agency management, external organizations, consultants and the general public.
Considerable experience and knowledge in interpreting state contracts, in eVA and VITA, records management, data analysis, statitical research, statistical reporting, governmental accounting and financial management.
Drives positive business relationships between VDOT and VITA/NG.
Identify the technology business needs and technology products, services or solution that will best fulfill those needs while determining cost containment.
IT procurement liaison who works with VITA and NG, understanding technology in order to discuss contracts, licenses agreements, maintenance agreements and contracts.
IT procurements require special attention and specialized best practices to obtain best-value IT solutions for the Commonwealth.
IT procurements differ in complexity and analysis.
Highly proficient in the use of MS office products, personal computer and database, spreadsheet, software to include, Word, Excel, Access, especially Outlook. SharePoint experience is desired.
Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to Information Technology , to include Prompt Pay Act of Virginia and Virginia Procurement Act.
Knowledge of accounting functions and guidelines.
Ability to compile/prepare/monitor major equipment, physical, and lease equipment inventory.
Skilled in the functionality of financial systems, Microsoft Office Suites, and other automated equipment and tools.
Skilled in English grammar with the ability to communicate effectively.
Considerable experience records management, data analysis, statistical research, statistical reporting, governmental accounting, and financial management.
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree (IT and Business) or equivalent education, training or related work experience preferred
