Job Overview:

The IT Product Manager is responsible for the product strategy and delivery of business systems solutions that meet the strategic objectives of the business product owner and key stakeholders. This role works collaboratively with the business product owner to facilitate discovery and development of a roadmap of prioritized functional capabilities with supporting business objectives to be enabled through technology and is responsible for maximizing the value of the product and efforts of the IT delivery team. Along with overseeing and prioritizing the product backlog, provides acceptance of the delivered solution and ensures implemented solutions are of quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

IT Product Management:

Serves as the “voice of the product” for the IT delivery team, representing the needs of the business product owner and stakeholders.         Product Manager for 1+ Products.        Contributes expert functional knowledge and works collaboratively with the business product owner with a consulting mindset to recommend solutions that enable complex business processes and related objectives.        Leads and oversees the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of business needs, requirements, and to-be processes using interviews, workshops, and presentations.        Manages and maintains a transparent product backlog, re-evaluate product needs and continually balance priorities of the product based on key product objectives and desired results.        Participates as a member of the agile team and oversees the definition of epics and stories including acceptance criteria for the to-be capabilities and processes depending on product.        Participates as a member of a technical team and oversees the creation of technical requirements and user requirements along with data requirements.        Interacts with a diverse set of stakeholders, including senior management, business and technology teams, customers, suppliers, and external partners.        Drives cohesion across the team and provides leadership and focus on the prioritized deliverables.        Provides clear direction and flexibility when priorities change based on user needs and requirements to technical teams.        Oversees and drives agile SDLC activities, including planning, refinement, stand- ups and retrospectives. Provide support to manage iteration planning and refinement of user stories. Spotlight inter-dependencies among cross-product development teams to ensure seamless delivery.        Oversees the delivery of functional documentation, training, and functional support for systems solutions.

Coaching & Leadership:

       Coaches, mentors, motivates, and informally supervises the IT delivery team members.        Influences IT and business teams to yield positive actions and accountability for assigned tasks or work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification:

       Bachelor’s degree in related fields or a combination of relevant experience and education.

Experience:

       3-5 years’ experience of relevant Product Management experience        3-5 years’ experience in process design, roadmap creation, business requirements, technical requirements, or project management or technical business analyst        Broad experience in retail, wholesale, distribution and/or relevant functions        Agile delivery experience preferred. 

Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:

       Ability to communicate business and technical information in simple terms (both verbally and in presentation) and succinctly articulate issues to mid- and senior level leaders and to be persuasive in making their recommendations.        Skills in attention to details, and quality control.        Ability to work in a result driven environment.        Knowledge of product delivery methodologies        Ability to solve complex problems using analytic frameworks.        Ability to act as a positive change leader.        Communication and Organizational skills.        Ability to work with leadership in multiple parts of the organization.       Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
