Protein Diagnostic Birmingham

Our specialty diagnostics work involves providing diagnostic assays and instruments for clinical monitoring of blood cancers and immune system disorders. Your focus on patients will improve health outcomes that people and communities rely on.

You will work with the IT Director and business and IT Project Manager(s) to deliver strategic projects in the Protein Diagnostics division.

The Program Manager ensures that multiple projects within an organization align with strategic goals and deliver business value.

Minimum experience:

Proven experiance for a minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT Program ManagerExcellent project management skills with a proven track record of successful project deliveryStrong understanding of project management techniques, organizational change and communication is required for this role.Proficiency using Project Management tools (i.e. enterprise PPMs, MS Project, SmartSheet)Attention to detail in budget tracking, reporting, project planning and resource management are crucial.

Key responsibilities:

Program Planning and Strategy:

Define the program's scope, objectives, and deliverables.Develop a program roadmap and strategy in alignment with business goals.Identify and manage program collaborators and their expectations.

Resource Management:

Allocate resources across projects within the program.Ensure the program has the necessary resources, including personnel, budget, and technology.

Program Execution:

Ensure that the IT project management requirements are met.Oversee the execution of all projects within the program.Coordinate the schedules, timelines, and achievements of various projects.Ensure projects are progressing according to plan and are on track to meet deadlines.

Risk and Issue Management:

Identify potential risks and issues across the program.Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.Monitor and manage risks and issues as they arise.

Collaborator Communication:

Maintain regular communication with collaborators, including executives, project managers, and team members.Coordination of third-party activities throughout the lifecycle, creating accountability and delivery successProvide regular status updates and reports on program progress.Coordinate customer meetings and reviews.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that the projects within the program meet quality standards and deliverables.Implement proven methods and standards for project management within the program.

Budget Management:

Develop and run the program budget.Monitor expenditures and ensure the program stays within budget.Approve project budgets and changes.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Track and report on program performance using critical metrics.Assess program outcomes and benefits realization.Provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

Lead and mentor project managers and team members within the program.Cultivate a collaborative and productive work environment.Resolve conflicts and facilitate problem-solving.

Organisational Change:

Manage changes to the program scope, schedule, and resources.Communicate changes to collaborators and ensure proper documentation.

Minimum requirements/qualifications:

Experience with defining IT strategies that align with business needs, argument development, storytelling, and preparing and delivering oral presentationsStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skills interacting with senior leadersThe ability to effectively manage team with diverse skills and backgrounds and create an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environmentAn interest in staying abreast of technology and project management trendsA forward thinker and self-starter that thrives on an adapts quickly to new challengesAbility to manage multiple tasks and tight timescales with ease, while maintaining a strong work ethic and professionalismExperience in life sciences is usefulStrong leadership and team management skillsLeading through collaboration and influence in a matrixed environmentStrong communication and social skillsManagerial courageStrong problem-solving skillsFinancial managementRisk managementQuality management

Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.PMP or other globally recognized project management certification advantageous
