This position is responsible for directing and managing complex, large scale programs/projects from beginning to end, including development of delivery strategies, planning, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing and resource management, risk/issue identification and resolution, and reporting. This includes identifying the KPIs for the program, development of the program roadmap and management of the program related projects. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the overall project plans, milestones and deliverables and reporting on program status to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
+ Proactively identify current and future business needs and advocate for the optimal solution. Develop strategies and approaches for complex projects or programs to ensure integration across BJ’s. Identify resource requirements including people, organizations, financial, hardware, software and services for multiple projects or a program. Provide program management direction and leadership to other project managers. Facilitate and communicate resolution to complex, strategic issues with executive level management. Establish documentation requirements and ensure compliance. Develop strategies for continuous improvement of operational performance.
+ Lead discovery activities with business partners at all levels to understand business objectives, assumptions and constraints related to a solution opportunity. Proactively identify current and future business needs and advocate for the optimal solution. Prepare initial analysis and facilitation approach for capturing large-scale and complex requirements. Apply extensive industry knowledge, solution knowledge and requirement techniques to develop a macro view of current and target processes and systems. Form opinions, develop models and facilitate interaction, which lead to solutions that bridge the gap between current and target state. Drive interaction with project team and management to identify and document benefits, costs and risks associated with solution alternatives. Drive and influence solution fit for build vs. buy decisions and recommend solutions that meet or exceed risk and reward expectations.
+ Provide input into development and delivery of training curriculum for project managers and project participants. Identify and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Coach, mentor, and motivate team members. Manage other project and program managers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
+ Develop comprehensive communications plans for key projects and programs. Respond to customer and business partner requests for service. Prepare and deliver effective, timely, meaningful communications (written and verbal) throughout the project lifecycle to project participants, senior leadership, and the organization. Define project success criteria and disseminate these to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, consistent, and meaningful manner. Build, develop, and grow internal and external business relationships. Ensure project(s) & project documentations meet all audit and compliance requirements. Build and communicate weekly status reports representing project metrics and RAID items. Collaborate with Finance to run the planning and budgeting process of project(s) through the year and assess where we are monthly. Manage the budget and plans on a regular basis and escalate and problem solve where needed. Manage and maintain standard outputs created by teams for the budgeting and planning process.
+ Take a leadership role in training other project managers and project participants in project participation and delivery. Keep pace with emerging project and portfolio management trends and best practices. Manage stakeholder relationships within and outside of technology serving as the face of technology project management. The ability to lead multiple projects with different business/IT areas at the same time.
Qualifications/Requirements
+ 10+ years of Project/Program Management experience on multiple technical programs and working knowledge of agile & waterfall methodologies and tools
+ Fluency and experience in implementing mid-large scale IT infrastructure and IT security related projects.
+ Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related discipline
+ Superior written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex landscape and present to all levels of senior management
+ Strong capability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and leaders without authority
+ Proven IT program management ability to create, execute and maintain complex programs across a large organization with a track record of delivering results
+ Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $131,000.00.
