Description
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled IT Coordinator to support our IT department during a 6-month project involving the implementation of projects such as a new Asset Management System and a Network Closet Refresh.
The IT Coordinator will be responsible for researching, planning, and organizing inventory systems, with a focus on selecting the most appropriate asset management solution and ensuring our network closet is efficiently organized and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Asset Management System Selection:
+ Research and evaluate the top 5 Asset Management Systems available on the market.
+ Create a detailed spreadsheet comparing the pros and cons of each system based on features, cost, user experience, and compatibility with current IT infrastructure.
+ Assist in the selection and implementation of the most suitable asset management system for the organization.
+ Network Closet Refresh:
+ Develop a comprehensive plan for network closet refresh, including a full inventory of current equipment.
+ Assess and reorganize the network closet to optimize space, efficiency, and accessibility.
+ Ensure proper labeling and tracking of all equipment to improve organization and asset management.
+ Inventory Management:
+ Create an inventory plan to track all IT assets within the organization, including computers, servers, networking equipment, and software.
+ Organize and structure inventory data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
+ Develop and maintain up-to-date spreadsheets or databases for inventory tracking, including serial numbers, locations, and usage status.
+ Administrative Support & Reporting:
+ Provide general administrative support to the IT department, including scheduling, coordination, and reporting on project progress.
+ Prepare detailed reports and documentation on the asset management system and network closet refresh, presenting findings and recommendations to senior IT staff.
+ Coordinate communication between internal stakeholders and external vendors during the implementation process.
+ Collaboration & Vendor Interaction:
+ Work closely with the IT team to implement the new asset management system and network closet refresh.
+ Interact with vendors to gather information, negotiate terms, and ensure the smooth procurement of necessary equipment or software.
+ Provide training or guidance to team members on the new asset management system as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ Technical Experience: A background in IT systems and asset management is required, including experience with hardware inventory, software, and network management.
+ Research Skills: Ability to research and compare different software solutions and technology systems, especially related to asset management.
+ Strong Organizational Skills: Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, including planning, research, and inventory management.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Comfort with creating and managing spreadsheets for tracking inventory and comparing systems.
+ Administrative Experience: Comfort with administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and project coordination.
+ Self-Motivated & Independent: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in both in-office and remote settings.
+ Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members and external vendors.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
+ Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, or other Microsoft 365 tools.
+ Familiarity with networking hardware and equipment management.
