EPCOR is hiring a full-time Manager, Project Delivery position and reporting to our US Corporate office in north-central Phoenix, Arizona.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of major projects within Application Services. Your duties include adhering to Information Services System Delivery Life Cycle processes, collaborating with IT and EPCOR business teams to develop project charters, assembling project teams, planning, monitoring schedules and costs, and actively participating in procurement and project closure activities. Additionally, you’ll provide financial oversight and governance for projects, ensuring successful outcomes within typical time spans ranging from 3 to 12 months.
What you’d be responsible forIdentify the necessary budget, resources, and staff required to deliver projects.Defines a work breakdown structure that includes include key milestones, phases, and deadlines.Anticipate both management and technical risks (challenges and obstacles) and identify effective mitigations and preventative actions to ensure delivery of projects.Identifies success criteria for projects considering both business and IT needs. Identifies project operational impacts and plans a successful transition to operations.Plans and sources project resources, and schedules these resources in alignment with the project timelines and delivery dates. Project resourcing levels must be anticipated and met as planned to ensure overall project timelines and budgets.Ensure adherence to processes, procedures and standards (i.e. Information Services System Delivery Life Cycle processes, Supply Chain sourcing practices).Collaborates with the Project Management Office (PMO) to optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by identifying and implementing process enhancements, ensuring streamlined and efficient service delivery.Ensure that work is completed safely and efficiently.Ensures that projects stay on track, adhere to plans, and achieves project goals.Ensures the quality of deliverables produced by project teams and direct reports.Ensuring appropriate financial reporting requirements are met throughout project life cycle.Ensures stakeholders, steering committees, and IS leadership are informed of project status.Create capable, committed, and high-performing project team(s).Set appropriate performance objectives for each project team member.Hold project team members accountable for achieving results and demonstrating required behaviors.Provide feedback to project team members and identify training plans, as requiredIdentifies resourcing needs and work with the Project Management Office and Human Resources together to define resourcing needs and establish project staffing plans.Ensures that the right talent is selected to contribute to project success.Collaborate cross functionally to resolve issues.Consult with IT and stakeholders to create understanding and resolve issues or concerns.Collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues or concerns.Provide (technical) insights and expertise to support decision-making.Hire and terminate staff/contractors within plan within EUI policies, processes, manager context, and prescribed limits.Approves expenditures within approved resource plan and budget up to the amount allowable by company policyWhat’s required to be successfulBachelor’s degree or diploma in a Computer Engineering/System Technology or related fields such as Engineering, Business, Information System, Physical Sciences. The following certifications would be considered an asset: Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)Demonstrated expertise in successfully managing and delivering IT solutions to business clients, bridging technology and business needs.Proficiency in navigating the System Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). Understands the intricacies of project development from inception to deployment.Operational and Project Management: A track record of effective operational and project management. Overseen projects, coordinated teams, and ensured successful outcomes.Experienced in Supply Chain sourcing practices including Request for Proposal processesMinimum of 10 years of experience within the IT industry, which includes a minimum of 5+ years of IT related project management experience Candidates possessing less than the required years of experience may be considered at a developmental levelHas a deep understanding of the entire project lifecycle—from initiation to closure. Proficiency in methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall allows effective planning, resource allocation, and timely project deliveryEfficiently allocates and optimizes resources—whether personnel, technology, or capital.The ability to engage, communicate, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, ensuring successful project outcomes.Demonstrates financial acumen having a solid understanding of financial accounting principles, recognizes the financial impact of project decisions.Well-developed understanding of IS and Supply Chain sourcing practices and mechanisms available. These include, Request for Proposal (RFP), Master Service and Procurement Justifications.Creates concise and informative status reports and steering committee presentations to ensure transparency and alignment with project goals.Strong problem solving skills - familiarity with the technologies being used, understanding software or product development intricacies, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.Adept at assessing project risks, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring quality throughout the project lifecycleFamiliarity with software development processes, programming languages, and architectural principlesFamiliarity infrastructure components, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud servicesSets and communicates standards for performance, making needs, priorities, and requirements clear, giving corrective feedback when performance does not meet standards, and establishing and implementing plans to correct performance problems.Works with the team to break down goals in a way that is attainable and develops strategies to achieve them; makes specific changes in the system or in work methods to accomplish work more effectively and efficiently.
