Our client in Topeka is looking for a Project Manager to join their team for a 6 month contract.
**Job Title: Project Manager**
**Location: Topeka, KS**
**MUST HAVES**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business and three years experience with IT related project management or five years experience with IT related project management.
+ Experience may substituted for the degree.
**Position Description**
+ The position (K0235731) manages various complex IT projects over $250,000 which require the implementation of State and Federal initiatives and legislative mandates related to Health, Environment, and Administration areas, including the Kansas Health and Environment Laboratory.
+ Monitor execution of plans for system implementation, security, quality assurance, change management, risk assessment, acceptance testing or system conversion of new or modified information systems.
+ Prepare action lists, update system plans, and estimate costs of conformance.
+ Prepare reports and track progress of projects to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget as well as ensuring compliance of IT projects with state policies, guidelines, and objectives. This includes providing IT project oversight to agency management, preparing and producing required management reports, reporting all direct and indirect costs, making project presentations, defining project milestones, tracking project progress and coordinating and providing KITO reporting as defined by law.
+ Monitor performance of third-party providers for conformance to contract requirements and initiate corrective action when services are inadequate.
+ Coordinates the work of project staff working on all project
+ **Responsibilities:**
+ Serve as the Workfront software administrator.
+ Serve as the system and training administrator for the KnowBe4 software.
+ Develop sound project management plans for proposed and approved systems.
+ Define or plan projects to improve information systems or to support the organization's business functions with information technology, consistent with the organization's strategic IT plan, information architecture and technological direction.
+ Using assigned project resources (staff, space, equipment and funds) and coordinating involvement by managers, stakeholders and users, produce or document system additions or changes which meet project objectives and quality standards.
+ Assist in the development of various standards definitions for application development, quality assurance, change control, etc.
+ Represents projects at conferences and meetings.
