We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager (internally referred to as the Solution Delivery Manager (SDM)) to lead a product team that is responsible for developing and supporting a large custom construction project management application. You will own the release management process including scope confirmation, planning the release, coordinating sprints, and executing deployments. The SDM manages the development life-cycle, creation of knowledge assets, and execution of training. This role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure timely delivery of each release.
Here's how a(n) IT Project Manager for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**
+ **Release Management.** Manages the release schedule, plans and executes deployments, collaborates with stakeholders, ensures completion of the development scope, and maintains risk mitigation plans.
+ **Processes and Procedures.** Develops, executes, and continuously improves product lifecycle management processes and procedures.
+ **Leadership and Collaboration.** Builds customer-focused relationships, manages a team of business analysts, aligns team with goals, raises issues, schedules and facilitates meetings, holds team members accountable, provides status updates, coaches others, and resolves conflicts.
+ **Sprint Planning.** Collects and communicates sprint priorities, tracks progress and promptly addresses roadblocks.
+ **Infrastructure Management.** Plans and coordinates updates to environments.
+ **Emergency Hotfix Management.** Handles emergency hotfix requests, approvals, and deployments with clear communication to the product team and end users.
+ **Backlog Management.** Maintains the Azure DevOps structure and sets up dashboards and automation to monitor team health and compliance.
**Qualifications**
+ 10 years of solution delivery (project) management experience within a Business Technology or Information Technology environment.
+ Post-secondary degree or diploma in information management, information technology, business administration, computing science, or a related discipline.
+ Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent preferred.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and present ideas and content that contribute to the corporate strategy.
+ Ability to manage others and their projects and solutions simultaneously.
+ Ability to think logically and analytically, and to constructively express ideas and concepts.
+ Proven experience managing projects using Agile, and Software Development Lifecycles (SDLCs).
+ Demonstrated planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate.
+ Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with employees at all levels and areas of the organization.
+ Ability to build a business case and proposal to recommend a technical solution through strong leadership and decision-making skills.
+ Ability to provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to the team.
+ Expert-level user of Microsoft Project or an equivalent project scheduling tool.
