IT Project Manager - Metals PPI
We are looking for a dynamic IT Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of digital solutions aimed at optimizing inventory management, warehouse operations, and transportation processes. The primary goal of this role is to ensure that inventory is maintained at the right levels, at the right locations, with the right quality and cost. The successful candidate will drive projects that build digital capabilities for better warehouse management, automate manual tasks, and enhance inventory tracking. This role is key to achieving measurable success through the automation of MRP processes, leveraging AI for inventory planning, and reducing warehousing costs. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Problem Definition and Business Objectives:** 2. Address the business problem of ensuring optimal inventory levels across the supply chain, focusing on accuracy, cost-efficiency, and quality. 3. Continuously optimize the warehouse network, inventory management, and transportation processes through technology-driven solutions. 4. **Digital Capability Development:** 5. Lead the development and implementation of digital tools and solutions to automate warehouse processes, including the automation of manual labor tasks and improved tracking of inventory adjustments. 6. Enable smart warehouse solutions by integrating ERP systems and smart manufacturing technologies. 7. **Project Success Metrics:** 8. Define and achieve measurable project outcomes, such as improved lead planning through MRP process automation, enhanced inventory accuracy, and reduced warehousing costs. 9. Implement AI-driven solutions similar to OIO for comprehensive inventory planning and management. 10. **Core Process Optimization:** 11. Develop and implement a hub-and-spoke model for core and lead management to enhance the agility of the core export process. 12. Reduce dependency on specific warehouses and improve transportation efficiency through strategic process enhancements. 13. **Assumptions and Risk Management:** 14. Identify key conditions required for project success, such as the upgrade of SAP to EHP8 to enable critical features. 15. Manage risks associated with anticipated events and changes during the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals. 16. **Stakeholder Collaboration:** 17. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, supply chain, and operations, to ensure alignment of project objectives with broader business strategies. 18. Regularly communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels. 19. **Continuous Improvement:** 20. Focus on continuous process improvements within the metals industry context, aiming for better inventory adjustment controls, reduced warehousing costs, and increased automation. 21. Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in warehouse management and inventory optimization to drive innovation. **Qualifications:** + Proven experience in IT project management, particularly in digital transformation projects related to inventory and warehouse management. + Strong understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP), MRP processes, and AI capabilities in supply chain management. + Experience with SAP EHP8 or similar upgrades is a plus. + Excellent project management skills with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and continuous improvement. + Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. + Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. **Objective:** The success of this role will be measured by the successful implementation of digital solutions that optimize inventory levels, automate warehouse processes, and reduce costs.
