IT Project Manager (Operations) - Houston, TX Hiring Location: Company S&B Houston Job ID 13214 Type Full-Time OVERVIEW

The IT Project Manager will be tasked with leading, organizing, and coordinating multiple projects, with a proven track record of delivering those projects on-time and on-budget.    An IT Project Manager should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work alongside both project stake holders and internal IT developers, solution architects, business analysts, IT management, and executive/senior management.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Manages a group of Information Technology professionals sufficient to support an optimum level of computer application support.  These responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, performance reviews and firing.

 

EDUCATION

 

Four-year college degree in related field or equivalent is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing IT systems and applications projects   The IT PM must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.   Be able to report status of IT projects to IT Management, IT Steering teams, and to external users.  Preferred Skill:  Experience in integrating and managing IT applications and systems projects for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction industry (EPC).  Certified project manager (PMP) with agile scrum training and certification preferred.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

A proven track record in leading, organizing, and coordinating multiple work activities simultaneously.Experience in project management at either a lead or support level.Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.Performs other related duties as assigned.A proven track record in delivery of on-time, on-budget projects with a high degree of user satisfaction and quality.A proven track record implementing varying principles and techniques of project management, including the ability to develop and track complex project plans, manage risks, manage scope, and manage resources.Experience applying project management skills to application redesigns.Knowledge of principles of case and data management systems and product development.A proven track record of managing complex relationships among stakeholders on a project which has significant executive oversight.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences, including creating and presenting executive summaries to steering committees and other executive level leadership.Experienced with the principles of full life cycle systems design, development, and deployment.A proven track record of building coalitions among various stakeholders using excellent conflict resolution skills, where needed.Experienced with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio. Experience applying project management skills to implementation, configuration, and roll-out of software case or records management systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical systems documentation.  Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Basic mathematical and algebraic equations required

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

On a regular basis the employee will need to have the ability to drive to operating plants and construction sites and other S&B office complexes. This requires the ability to stand, walk, and have clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

This position requires both office and field environment. The office environment will be a business office with moderate noise. The construction jobsite will have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noises, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, and chemical and airborne particles.
