We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Security Principal to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization’s technology assets. The IT Security Principal will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring robust security controls to prevent unauthorized modifications, disclosures, or destruction of our systems and data. This role will require expertise in secure system design, incident response, risk management, and the identification and mitigation of potential cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and databases, ensuring compliance keeping in mind the best practices and organizational security requirements.
Identify and detect potential cyber-attacks, intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse of technology systems. Provide timely and accurate reporting of these incidents.
Conduct comprehensive risk audits, provide strategic recommendations to enhance security measures. Assist in the development of backup and disaster recovery plans.
Lead the triage and analysis of cybersecurity incidents, determining the scope, urgency, and potential impact to the organization. Develop and implement incident response strategies.
Recommend and implement improvements to network defense configurations to proactively prevent cyber threats and bolster security posture.
Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of security-related processes, programs, and policies while keeping alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.
Address highly complex and evolving cybersecurity issues by offering innovative solutions, best practices, and strategic insights.
Work independently with minimal guidance in executing security initiatives.
Advise internal teams on security strategies and provide leadership on large-scale projects or security programs.
Collaborate with various teams across the organization, ensuring security measures are integrated into all aspects of technology infrastructure, development, and operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security or a closely related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Deep, specialized knowledge in IT security controls, threat detection, risk management, and incident response.
Proficient in the design, implementation, and testing of secure operating systems, networks, and databases. Extensive experience with cybersecurity best practices, risk management tools, and defense strategies.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex cybersecurity problems and provide innovative, long-term solutions.
Ability to work independently with minimum guidance, in complex and high-stakes situations.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and mentor teams, as well as provide strategic advice on security matters.
Advanced cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA preferred
