IT Software Asset Management Analyst

About the role

The IT Software Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for proactively enforcing governance for software and hardware assets as well as coordinating regular audits and follow up reconciliation activities. Focus will be on the asset management lifecycle and will also include maximizing the value of IT asset investment, analyzing software and hardware asset data, conducting root cause analysis on non-compliance, executing corrective actions, identifying and implementing process improvements. 

What you'll do here:

Manage software assets through their entire lifecycle.

Perform asset tracking and coordination of internal controls and compliance monitoring activities. 

Provide effective governance to ensure asset management processes and procedures are effectively being adhered to by internal teams and service partners.

Participate in the evaluation of products, service offerings and contracts and oversee day-to-day interactions with vendors to meet business needs. 

Obtain information and clarification on licensing, product changes, costing and invoicing and communicate and facilitate any such changes.

Ensure that asset inventories and IT tools are updated, and orders are tracked for internal and external billing purposes. 

Ensure the overall tracking of software license entitlements and evidence, based on software orders. Conduct inventory data cleanup, evergreening/decommissioning activities as required.

Actively participate in the creation and optimization of standard operating procedures, processes, guidelines and documentation for all asset management processes.

Provide support and expertise while working closely with internal and external team members on related project work.

Develop analyses and dashboards to automate asset tracking and regular reporting activities.

What you bring to the table:

2 years of experience in Desktop and IT infrastructure software asset management with major vendors.

Experience working with users from a customer service perspective.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Result oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Good working knowledge and understanding of IBM software licensing, an asset.

Experience with ServiceNow configuration, an asset.

Asset management certification, an asset.

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
