IT Software Asset Management (SAM) Manager

As the Software Asset Management (SAM) Manager, you will lead a small group to purchase and track all software utilized within the organization. This includes processing all requests for new software. The team also manages the software renewal process including reconciliation, reclamation, optimizing software licensing numbers, and optimizing costs.
As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.
The SAM Manager position will be a working manager position, both leading the team and performing day to day SAM responsibilities. You will use your leadership, experience and expertise to optimize SNC's software investments while minimizing costs and risks. Software Asset Management responsibilities include:
+ Team leadership and management
+ Software Life-Cycle Management: Acquiring, tracking, reporting and retiring software assets. Follow established controls to manage software asset through their life-cycle from procurement to final disposition. Responsible for day-to-day operations and life-cycle management pertaining to IT Software Assets within the contracted operating environment
+ Software licensing: Track all SNC software entitlements and limit the risk of over-utilizing software licenses
+ Software requests: Processing requests from employees for software applications
+ Software documentation & compliance: Ensuring the organization is compliant with software licensing laws and security practices. Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software
+ Software vendor management: Interfacing with software vendors to establish accounts, download software, and troubleshoot activation issues
+ Software reconciliation: Conduct and report software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information. This may include software reclamation
+ Software cost optimization: Negotiating volume contracts to eliminate or reallocate underutilized licenses. Coordinates with the procurement function to interview, select and negotiate with and software vendors to purchase the appropriate equipment at the lowest cost
+ Software automation: Streamline IT processes to optimized manpower and costs
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent work experience
+ Typically, 6+ years of progressive IT data science or data engineering experience, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience
+ Experience with IT asset management (ITAM) / Software Asset Management (SAM) tools like ServiceNow SAM Professional
+ Solid working knowledge of software licensing agreements
+ Strong interpersonal skills

+ Strong written and spoken communication skills
+ Strong data analysis and manipulation skills
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Professionalism with an emphasis on customer service
+ Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

+ Strong experience with Windows and Microsoft Office lifecycle management and managing 3rd party licenses software
