Position Title: IT Software Development Advisor

Locations: Remote

Expected Duration: 12+ Months

Job Type: Contract with possible extension

Pay Rate: $60.00/hr on W2

Primary Purpose:

The IT Software Development Advisor will ensure the design and maintenance of scalable, robust software architecture, primarily for claims-related applications within the CMS software systems. This role includes overseeing programming, implementation, and revisions, while also evaluating technologies to provide strategic consultation for application and system needs. The successful candidate will work closely with management and colleagues to define and implement strategic technology initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Software Design & Architecture: Design and maintain software architecture to ensure scalability, data integrity, and system alignment with business and IT strategies. Technology Strategy & Consultation: Collaborate with management to define and implement technology strategies for claims-related applications, ensuring compatibility with overall business objectives. System Integration: Direct the implementation of strategies for maintaining JURIS data and system integration. Ensure seamless collaboration with other applications and infrastructure. Project Leadership: Manage and consult on large-scale projects, providing expertise in system modifications, interfaces, and integration. Collaboration & Project Oversight: Work closely with project managers to identify overlaps, dependencies, and strategic opportunities for future projects. Provide guidance in the prioritization of tactical and strategic change requests. Change Request Evaluation: Review software change requests to assess feasibility, duplication, and alignment with business needs. Recommend actionable steps for implementation. Resource Planning: Assist in projecting software and hardware requirements for claims-related applications.

Additional Functions and Responsibilities:

Contribute to the organization's quality programs and initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Administer company personnel policies in alignment with staffing and training standards. Lead and manage teams of analysts and programmers as required. Conduct interviews, hire staff, and establish performance development plans. Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to team members to promote peak performance. Conduct regular performance discussions to ensure team growth and success.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensing:

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Management, or a related field from an accredited university. Strongly Preferred: Master's degree in a related discipline.

Experience:

Required: Ten (10) years of relevant experience, including at least seven (7) years in software development. Preferred: Five (5) years of hands-on experience in programming for database-driven and data-centric applications.

Skills & Knowledge:

Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), specification development, application modularization, logic specifications, and security considerations. Programming & Frameworks: Expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Angular, and Azure cloud technologies. Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, including technical writing and presentation capabilities. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership, management, and motivational skills. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Analytical & Interpretive Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights. Collaboration & Negotiation: Ability to work collaboratively across teams and effectively negotiate priorities.
