Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army 1st IO, Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities Ensures the operations and maintenance of unit Information Technology (IT) equipment. This work involves the planning, coordinating, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems in support of the organization's IT architecture and business needs. Plans and schedules the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software to minimize operational impact. Develops and documents systems administration standard operating procedures. Manages the installation and integration of systems fixes and updates, and application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. Monitors the work of other systems administrators to ensure work is completed to standard. Manages section's tasks and priorities to military and contractor team members and reports status, i.e., accomplishments, training needs and work processes during weekly meetings and planning sessions to support section operations Manage assigned government property to ensure accountability IAW Army Command Supply Discipline program.
