IT Sr Systems Engineer

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.

Server administration and support. Plan for growth in the areas of user base and hardware needs. Monitor and benchmark performance and utilization of all Servers. Support server-based technologies such as Windows, VMWare, Unix/Linux, and Citrix. 

Application administration and support. Utilize tools such as Configuration Manager and Endpoint Manger to deploy new applications and upgrades. Support and enhance other application virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMWare VApps and MSIX. 

Database administration and support. Trend growth and performance of all databases. Correct database integrity issues. Monitor and log DB server performance. Implement and test Point-In-Time recoverability. Be proficient with SQL utilities such as Profiler and Trace utilities. 

Cloud technologies. Develop, enhance, maintain, and support cloud-based server and application initiatives. 

Ensure security for all technologies are maintained and kept current. 

Develop backup and recovery procedures. Develop, test and document disaster recovery plans. 

Serves as a IT liaison between departments. Meet with end users to achieve goals relating to new/existing solutions. Recommend changes to improve user availability and performance. 

Ensure all changes are made in accordance with McLeod change control, security, and risk assessment policies. 

Participate in 3rd level call rotation. 

Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications/Training 

Ten plus years of experience working in a complex virtual server environment supporting more than five hundred servers running Windows, Linux, SQL, Citrix, and Web Servers. 

Experience working with Cloud based technologies such as AZURE. 

Experience with modern backup and recovery processes required. 

Experience with Storage Area Network equipment and configuration required. 

Experience with Microsoft patching processes required. 

Experience Security processes to enhance server security required and EDR’s such as Crowdstrike. 

Experience working with Linux and container-based applications. 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education 

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
